FoxyTag

FoxyTag (www.foxytag.com) is a collabortion system, where users report cameras to each other. When a user reports a camera, a check is made to see if other users also reported that camera. If so, a link between theses users is established (buddies), and other cameras that the other users reported will be send to the first user. This way networks of users that report in similar fashion will be created. The qualitiy of the information a user supplies, reflects the quality of information he/she will get back.
For example, if you believe all trafic lights contain cameras, and you report this to FoxyTag, you will be linked to other users that believe the same thing, and you will get their cameras reports as well.

TrackerTag is connected to the FoxyTag servers. TrackerTag users can register with FoxyTag (www.foxytag.com/en/registration.html) to become a FoxyTag user. Take a look at the FoxyTag FAQ for more information.

FoxyTag needs gps location information and an Internet connection.



FoxyTag Offline Mode


If you plan a trip abroad, or can’t afford to be online while travelling, you can preload the FoxyTag information and run the application in Offline Mode.

  1. Go to the TrackerTag TripPlanner, plan your trip by entering the start and end positions, or by dragging the start and end markers. When done, enter your FoxyTag id, and send the trip to the server.
  2. Open TrackerTag in online mode, go to the FoxyTag screen and preload the trip using the context menu (middle button).
  3. After downloading the trip, select Offline mode in the context menu.
  4. Drive around, and TrackerTag will use the preloaded information.
  5. TrackerTag will use the preloaded information every time you start TrackerTag in offline mode.
  6. Add, Confirm or Cancel camera’s in offline mode. This information will be cached for and used in two ways:
    • Corrections made by you, will show in the radar. This means that if you spot a camera facing the other way, you will get warned on the way back.
    • The new information will be uploaded to FoxyTag next time you are online. This will give you extra credits, and make the list your receive next time more accurate.
  7. When you are in a place where you have internet access again, go back to online-mode to upload your reports.

Restrictions:
  • All mobile cameras will be shown as ghosts.
  • You must confirm/add/remove cameras on the way. This will contribute to the FoxyTag system as soon as you are online again.
  • You can’t use this feature with the test account. A proper FoxyTag account is required.
