Settings
The settings screen has a normal mode and an expert mode. Usually, the normal mode is good enough, but to enter the expert mode, you have to pull down the settings list until the expert mode appears.
Location
Here you can switch GPS on or off.
Expert mode
Inside: this will configure the behaviour of the GPS when it has a wifi connection. Setting this to "sleeping" will save battery power.
Background: this will turn GPS off when the app is in the background, or leave it on (Active).
Services
FoxyTag
This switches the connection to the FoxyTag server on and off.
If the switch named "Use test account" is on, FoxyTag is in test mode. You can tap "Get free account" to get your own account.
If you toggle the switch "Use test account" to off, you can enter your own account name and password.
NL services
FlitsService
This establishes a connection to the FlitsService server to retrieve mobile cameras.
Flitsers.mobi
Turning on this service will retrieve extra cameras from Flitsers.mobi.
Traffic
This will retrieve traffic information in the Netherlands.
Expert mode
To show the distance to the traffic jam in the radar screen (above the distance bar), switch "Show traffic distance" on.
Warnings
On background: this will switch the warning sounds on/off when the app is in the backround.
You can also select the kind of cameras you will be given a warning of: fixed cameras, mobile cameras, ghost cameras.
In expert mode you can set the sound and the repeating behaviour of the warning.
Expert mode
Flash screen: this will make the screen flash red/white/black when there is a camera close by. Very useful in noisy cars.
Visual popup: this will show a popup warning on the screen when a camera is close by and the app is in the background.
During phone call: if you make a lot of phone calls, the warnings can be annoying. Switching this setting off will keep you from getting annoyed.
Access cameras are cameras that check highway entry traffic.
Section check cameras are used in the Netherlands where cars get photographted at the start and the end of a road section, to check the average speed.
Tracking
You can turn on tracking to send your position to a server.
When you have moved a certain distance, or turned an amount of degrees, the new position and direction will be sent to the server.
Right now you can send your position to your own server by specifying a private server, or to the TrackerMap server.
Expert mode
A label will be attached to the position message, to distinguish between walking and driving.
